Missing Lower Teeth
After many years of missing teeth, the bone and gums shrink where the empty space remains. Oftentimes, it is necessary to add pink porcelain that resembles gums to new bridges in order to avoid excessively long teeth.
Chipped Discolored Teeth
This patient was treated by Dr. Jake with crowns. Dr. Jake was able to not only successfully repair the chipped teeth for this patient, but he also corrected a crowding issue and brightened his smile!
Upper Snap-In Teeth
This patient came to Dr. Gray with an upper denture that they could not tolerate. It gagged them and moved around very easily when speaking and chewing. By placing implants in key positions of the upper jaw, Dr. Gray was able to make new teeth that snapped into place. Additionally, the roof of the mouth is open for a more natural feel, taste, and speech. By allowing the prosthetic to be removable, it can be cleaned easily and is able to provide additional lip support which reduces the sunken look that often follows when all the upper teeth are lost.
Crowns & All-On-4
This patient’s lower teeth were too compromised to save. Additionally, he did not like the look of his upper crowns. To correct his situation, all the lower teeth were removed, and he had five implants placed. On top of his implants, we fabricated a “hybrid prosthesis” that screws tight and chews like natural teeth. During this process, he also had all the upper crowns redone, for a more natural look.
All-On-4
This patient received All-On-4 treatment from Drs. Jake and Gray. Saving any of the upper teeth was not feasible and with this approach, the old teeth were able to be removed and new permanent ones screwed into dental implants all in one day! Also, notice how his gums were rebuilt as part of the final prosthetic allowing for a more natural looking smile with no spaces or black triangles.
Stained & Chipped Teeth
This patient came to our office to fix his broken front teeth. As you can see, he had worn them thin from grinding in his sleep. This led to chipping and jagged edges. Dr. Gray restored his smile with all porcelain crowns which have no metal. Due to the patient’s age, a natural color was chosen for his new crowns. Now he is able to smile with confidence once again!
Snap-In Teeth
This patient had several dentures before arriving at our office. After a little investigating, it became evident that he did not want to use denture paste or pads anymore and had abundant bone. In order to address the concerns, we placed four implants in the top and bottom jaw and then used these for extra retention on his dentures. Also, the metal backing on the lower denture made it stronger and thinner.
Stained Teeth with Recession
When numerous back teeth are missing, extensive pressure is put on the remaining teeth. This patient did not want to lose any more teeth and realized his situation was a combination of smoking, poor tissue health, clenching and no support in the back of his mouth. We restored his esthetics and function with crowns and used a lower partial to distribute stress and chewing over a broader area.
Premium Partials
Cost often deters patients from undergoing extensive esthetic treatment. In this case, we were able to restore all the missing teeth with two crowns and removable partials. Since a comprehensive treatment plan was developed, the crowns were designed to allow for a more effective partial.
Different Colored Teeth
Teeth sometimes develop with different translucency and base color. This patient complained of the “black triangles” and color discrepancy. Through a mixture of veneers and crowns, we closed the space, unified the color and corrected proportions.
Soft Teeth
This patient was young and experienced deterioration of her teeth due to soft enamel. To bring back her smile, Dr. Gray used all porcelain crowns. By having the lab technician hand layer the final contour porcelains, a translucent and natural look can be achieved. She was very happy with her upper crowns and is looking forward to having her lowers completed soon!
Soft Teeth & Staining
This patient came to see Dr. Ted before entering American Idol! He wanted a smile that was a bright uniform color and would impress the judges. Dr. Ted evaluated his situation and recommended veneers to accomplish this result. After studying his diagnostic models, a conservative approach was appropriate and very little grinding was necessary. With his new teeth and great talent, this patient made the top 16 on American Idol!
Premium Dentures
This patient presented with missing and broken teeth. Her ability to smile was compromised and affected her self-confidence each time she left the house. With new premium dentures, Dr. Gray was able to not only restore her smile and chewing, but her personality came back to life as well!
Severe Wear
This patient presented with many old crowns that kept coming off. His bite had collapsed and he had lost total confidence in his ability to smile. By restoring each of his teeth with all porcelain crowns, Dr. Gray was able to restore his bite, protect his teeth and give him a new reason to smile!
Severely Broken Teeth
This patient presented with multiple problems. Many of his old crowns had popped off and several teeth were mobile and in jeopardy of being lost. By treating his entire mouth with crowns, Dr. Gray was able to restore his bite so that the teeth did not damage each other when chewing or during sleep. Additionally, a unified look was obtained so all the teeth were the same color and exposed roots were protected.
Stained & Cracked Teeth
This patient was tired of her discolored teeth and the visible metal on her left side. We were able to restore a more pleasing contour and harmonized color with crowns.
Worn Discolored Teeth
This patient of Dr. Gray’s presented with severely discolored and worn central incisors. For a conservative and lifelike result, Dr. Gray and his patient chose aesthetic veneers for treatment. The teeth were prepared, impressions were taken, veneers were made locally by hand and cemented 2 weeks later. Now the patient can smile without being self-conscious again.
Recession
This patient had recession over time, which exposed the metal edges of her old crowns. With new porcelain that doesn’t contain any metal and extends all the way to her gums, Dr. Gray was able to achieve a more aesthetic result and restore this patient’s confidence to a full smile again!
Squared-Off Teeth
This patient is in television sales and spent a good bit of time in front of the camera. She was tired of her squared off front teeth with spaces and unnatural contours. Her hygiene was excellent and this made her an excellent candidate for veneers. Her new smile boosted her self-confidence, and she is no longer afraid to show her pearly whites!
Gum Disease & Old Crowns
Sometimes a comprehensive treatment involves selective removal of teeth that are not worth the investment of repair. In this patient, we removed several front teeth and replaced them with implants. Then a mixture of crowns and implant bridges were placed to restore function and esthetics.
Severe Wear
This case is a great example of why a patient should not let grinding and clenching go uncontrolled for a long period of time. This patient presented with severe wear and loss of vertical dimension (his chin is now too close to his nose when his mouth is closed). We restored his entire mouth and re-established his bite with crowns, then protected the new restorations with a night splint.
Permanent Implant Crowns
This patient presented with many cavities, missing teeth, and broken-off roots. Due to the large extent of dental problems, all teeth were extracted, and bone grafting was placed. Following recovery, CT scans were taken to allow accurate placement of implants. We then restored his implants with crowns and bridges to entirely rebuild his mouth.
Permanent Implant Crowns
This patient came to Dr. Gray with a lifelong history of dental problems. Many of his teeth were broken, decayed and/or missing. He had never been able to smile with confidence and it was obviously affecting his daily life. Dr. Gray rebuilt his foundation with dental implants and then completed his new smile with porcelain crowns and bridges. None of his teeth are removable, and he can now smile with confidence in addition to chewing like a normal person.
Stained & Chipped Teeth
This patient presented with multiple broken restorations and a collapsed bite. By treating his entire mouth with crowns and bridges, Dr. Gray was able to open his bite and restore his function and chewing. Additionally, a night guard is often made to protect his new teeth and minimize damage from grinding or clenching at night.
Premium Dentures
This patient described herself as “always hiding.” She was looking for answers and was tired of being embarrassed. At Luma Dentistry, we were able to make upper and lower premium dentures through a step by step, predictable process. The result was a vibrant and radiant smile that changed her life.
